This BavarianDiffs pinion tool is a 6 in 1 tool that allows you to preload your new Timken 188mm diff bearings to the same specs that I have been using successfully since 2014 on E24, E28, E30, E32, E34, E36.

Compatible with standard 4 bolts flanges, but also LK86, LK96 and 135i/335i.

I also use it to measure the clutch type LSD break away torque with a fish scale.

To preload good used bearings, you can add counterweighs to reduce the torque. e.g.: for a flange swap, you want to set the preload similar to what it was with the previous flange. No crush sleeve replacement is needed if you do it carefully.
