'Direct fit to the chassis mounting points' bucket seat side mounts. Simple, low cost and easy to install. I measured all the dimensions needed to make it a perfect fit in the e36 and it also works for the e46 and e90 chassis. I am now selling the 3rd version of my design, any comments will be taken into account to improve the next version.

Fits: e36, e46 and e90

The bottom of the plate has no holes, which allows you to drill exactly where you want.

The steel thickness is 0.135in / 3.4mm and the total weight before trimming is under 10 lb.

The price is less than a Sparco base combined with universal side mounts.

The installation stiffness is greater than anything you could buy under 15lb.

Fewer bolted joints mean fewer sources of compliance.

Laser cutting is performed with top of the line Mitsubishi equipment to guarantee a smooth finish.

If you're very tall in a BMW e36 coupe or very short in a BMW e46 sedan you might run out of longitudinal adjustment.

Dealer pricing/bulk pack deal available.

►BavarianDiffs side mounts installation guide (how to drill 4 holes)

There are many methods to install the side mounts. Even if this is a very easy level 1 project, following the recommended method will give you the best chance to get your seat properly installed without preload.

A) Install the inner mount on the seat and try to estimate the optimal longitudinal position for the front hole.

B) Drill the inner mount front hole #1. Use a 7/16or 11mm drill. If you pre-drill smaller this will make the job easier.

C) Measure your chassis and transfer this to the inner mount to drill hole #2. Drill on the reference line.

D) Bolt the two mounts to the seat and measure the width and the diagonal length to trace and drill hole #3 (outer mount, front hole).

E) If your seat is wider than 390 mm, you will have to cut the excess material so it doesn't interfere with the chassis (yellow cutting line, 25mm from the #3 and #4 hole center)

F) Test your driving position with the seat bolted to the chassis using the first 3 points you drilled. If the position is correct and if the holes are precisely aligned, use them as references to measure, punch and drill the last hole #4.
